TL;DR: This is a joint venture with record label Coastline Northern Cuts and Ziemia Club. It supports the local underground electronic music scene in Gdańsk, Poland. Features tracks by producers and DJs associated with the Ziemia Club.
In normal circumstances, this February we would be celebrating the third anniversary of Ziemia Club. We would meet at parties and have fun together on that occasion. Well, we can’t do this right now, so we decided to try something else and offer you a physical item to mark that anniversary - a piece of the club’s spirit you can have at home. It’s the vinyl record featuring tracks of our resident DJs and producers associated with Ziemia. Also, it’s accompanied by high-quality 180g t-shirts, tote bags and socks designed by Simo (
www.facebook.com/simo.works), who as Rhythm B. is a resident DJ and whose music is also featured on the record.
In the label's words: “The vast spectrum of genres showcased on this record perfectly captures how open minded Ziemia is when it comes to presenting different musical styles - including those less obvious and niche genres. It's a reflection of the musical atmosphere which has been forming within the club since 2018. There are tracks inspired by juke/footwork, less obvious techno variations as well as referencing the bass and jungle music vibe.”
One of the party series that is taking place at the club is Ziemia LIVE. Those are the events where you could hear almost an infinite number of musical styles - even during just one night. As one of the clubbers once said “I think I’ve already heard every genre. And it's only 1 A.M.”
Ziemia LIVE parties were organized by Tomek Hoax from the very beginning of the club’s existence and became an important part of Coastline Northern Cuts’ - his and Marcin Szulc’s record label formed in December 2018 - array of activities. This release proves how good this musical eclecticism works. Label’s idea for this compilation has been coming back and forth for quite some time and now it would materialize on the occasion of the third anniversary of Ziemia.
