about

Eirḗnē, named after the Greek goddess of peace, is a joint project by Michał Jacaszek and Stefan Wesołowski (Jacaszek/Wesołowski), commissioned by the Solidarity of Arts festival in Gdańsk in 2017, curated at the time by Tomek Hoax. The project debuted with a performance preceding Jóhann Jóhannsson's concert. Five years later, in 2022, this collaboration lived to see a new iteration, during which the album 'Eirḗnē' was recorded with the Philharmonic Orchestra in Szczecin shortly before the war started in Ukraine. The originally "pacifist" composition gained a new context then. It blends neo-classical orchestration with electronic music, produced by Daniel Rejmer, known for his work with Ben Frost.

Ambient, electronic passages and processed sounds are perfectly blended with the symphony orchestra. The album contains seven compositions recorded with the Szczecin Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Kinga Rozkrut and Michał Krężlewski. The intriguing orchestrations were prepared by Ziemowit Klimek, composer, producer and arranger, who is known from Immortal Onion and collaborations with artists such as Artificialice, Hania Rani and Magda Kuraś. Additional drum arrangements were contrived and recorded by the talented Hubert Zemler, known as a composer, drummer and improviser who has worked with artists such as Resina, Felix Kubin, Mitch & Mitch or Opla and Magneto. The piano was played unconventionally by Malina Midera, a pianist, composer and producer known for her contribution to Klawo band and creating Mibokoch, Midera & Kowalik Quartet and her current studies at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen.
